The shawarma shop was a bit of a dive, but after everything they’d just been through, Tony wasn’t about to argue about where to eat. It was close enough to his Stark Tower, and frankly, Tony needed something to distract himself. The adrenaline of the battle against the Chitauri still hadn’t worn off completely. He could feel the weight of the whole world pressing down on his shoulders, specially after cheating death, but he wasn’t going to let anyone see it.
“Where’d Cap go?” Tony excused himself from the table and headed out the door, scanning the area for Steve. He found him standing a few yards away from the shop, staring at the ground. There was a distant look in his eyes, like he was seeing something that wasn’t there—somewhere far away, even though he was standing right in front of Tony.
"Hey, Rogers."
Steve didn’t turn.
