It takes a long second—the blood creeping up Sirius’s cheeks while his face is quietly studied—before Freckles takes the glass from him and downs it in one gulp.
“Cheers,” he whispers back with a nod, rolling the stem between his fingers and turning to watch the instructor.
Sirius shifts his weight from foot to foot. He was expecting a laugh. At least a smile.
When Sirius Black finds himself on the Amalfi Coast on a solo holiday he was meant to spend with—well, never mind about him—he resolves to make the most of his ill-fated trip by sticking to his busy itinerary of classes and tours and tastings.
