Summary
“Every damn day, Shimano-san’s underlings make me wash their dishes. You’ve no idea how much they eat in that fucking office! Oh.” He blushes and looks at Yasuko, an ashamed expression on his long, gaunt face. “Sorry, Yasuko-chan.”
“It’s okay.” she smiles, stirring the pork meat. He’s a good man, she decides. She knows it, she can already see it, and she’s happy for her brother, happy that he has someone he can talk more freely with, someone who can understand his fears and successes, someone who can protect him and defend him, someone who always has his back, no matter what.
In which Yasuko and Majima meet for the first time.

Summary
As the mechanism clicked into place, Minami wondered vaguely whether anyone had ever willingly sealed themselves inside somewhere with Shimano's hound before; and how many of them had actually managed to walk out again after.
If the fear showed on his face at all, Majima hadn't noticed; he was busy admiring the symmetry of his handiwork, hands at his hips, proud at the realisation of his vision. “So,” the man said finally, “now that's taken care of, we ready ta head upstairs?”
Minami started at the particulars of his wording. “... we?”

“Thank you for coming in this evening,” a voice said from behind him, seating herself next to him.
Yuki.
“M-Majima-san?” She asked, tilting her head, shifting closer to him, trying to take it all in.
The once professional looking man with his hair pulled back dressed perfectly in a tuxedo was replaced with a shirtless Yakuza, his hair shaved and cut short. He looked nothing like the manager that helped train her, helped her open up and improve her skills and made her into the best hostess Sunshine had to offer.

Summary
Kiryu could feel every single hair on his body stand on end as it stood on its hind legs, sniffing the air.
It was even more intimidating when it stood to its full height.Kiryu was about to slowly back away and probably call the police when the monster’s tail suddenly whipped around and violently knocked over a trash can. The suddenness of it caused Kiryu to stumble backwards and knock over a trashcan himself, and he heard the creature let out a questioning growl.
Fuck.

Summary
Kiryu hears things about Majima.
First from Nishiki, who tells him about the eyepatched son of a bitch who threw down with him in Serena and beat the brakes off him, who was crazy in a desperate sort of way and desperate in sort of a crazy way.
Then from word on the street, about the Mad Dog of Shimano who’d disappeared for a year and resurfaced with a vengeance to claw his way back into the ranks of the Shimano family with a manic grin and twirling bat.
And before any of that, a year ago, in the love hotel they’d been lying low in, Makoto Makimura had recounted to him the story of a nameless man in Sotenbori who had protected her even though he was supposed to kill her, who was kind to her and had bought her takoyaki and had one eye, the one thing he had told her about him to comfort her as she wept in the darkness her mind had cloaked her in.
But the first time Kiryu encounters Majima, Majima somehow ends up being all of these things and none of these things at the same time.
[1989 - in which kiryu and majima meet, one year after the empty lot incident]
