    Summary

It all started one day, in late February, in New Rome, when suddenly, Percy began to hear whispers around every corner. Yet, whenever he went to search for these voices, he found nothing.

No one was talking in his vicinity and he feared he was finally losing it.

Or maybe, it began much earlier. Maybe it began when he refused the gods offer of immortality in favor of a mundane life with his friends. Maybe that was what sealed the deal, what made it inevitable.

It, of course, being his ascension.

or: Despite Percy's adamant refusal of godhood, he becomes one anyway. The inevitable was never harder (easier) to accept.

    Summary

Jason decides to take his chance. “So what’s the deal with him, anyway? People here talk about him like he’s a god.”

To his surprise, Clarisse snorts. “Something like that. Prissy’s an annoying one, that’s for sure. But I can’t deny that he’s powerful.”

“Powerful how?” He finds himself asking, curious. Everyone keeps talking about Percy Jackson, but people have yet to tell him more than that he’s Annabeth’s boyfriend, missing, and a son of Neptune. No, Poseidon. For some reason, the names swirl in his head, jumbled. He jolts out of his thoughts to Clarisse’s sigh of annoyance.

“What is it with all the hero-worship around here?” She mutters under her breath, and then huffs. “At least it wouldn’t go to his head.” She clears her throat, voice finally rising above a whisper. “Control-the-sea powerful. Create-a-storm powerful. Blow-up-a-toilet powerful. Blow-up-a-volcano powerful. That sort of thing.” She shrugs like she hasn’t dropped bombshell after bombshell, and Jason barely has enough presence of mind left to register that his jaw is hanging open. “Right–”

Or, 10 times someone thought Percy was a god, and the one time someone knew he was (or at least something like one).

    Summary

Tartarus didn't kill him - yet he never asked to be saved. He had been shaped by gods before — torn, tested, shattered.

    But not like this.

This time when a god of light touches a soul burned hollow by war and prophecy — something happens. Something amazing, something extremely painful.

Percy isn't sure what he is now — god, ghost, something worse — but for once, he's not alone.

But he's his father’s son. And that seems to be okay. He’s also someone else now. He doesn't know what he is entirely. But the sun doesn’t care what kind of monster he’s been. What kind of monster he is.

The sun sees the soul, even when the sea has swallowed it whole.

    Or:

Percy wakes up to a new destiny, a whole lot of new powers along with about a thousand new complications. No longer does he need to do what it takes to survive... but who will stay with him through this new chaos.

    Summary

When he looked at Percy again, Apollo’s eyes burned gold. “What I would have given, to have met you all those centuries ago.”

Percy’s lips parted and his eyes darkened. Apollo pressed his thumb against Percy’s lower lip, bitten red.

“How magnificent you’d have been. No one would have even thought to speak of Helen had they seen you.”
