Over Rumi's arm, crawling up her shoulder and to her neck, were dull, dark purple patterns. They were unmistakable. They couldn't be anything else.
Around them, the honmoon rippled; the patterns flashed in time with it, a wave of vibrant pink pulsing through them and closing in on the injury, only for the glow to be repelled and spread outwards instead.
The cold dread from before was back, pressing its frigid fingers to her spine. Her limbs were suddenly too heavy to move. Her brain buzzed with thousands of thoughts, too loud for any specific one to stand out.
It didn't make sense. It wasn't possible.
But then, neither was her shin-kal cutting Rumi.
Honmoon weapons only killed demons. It was the reason Zoey could take risks with throwing her shin-kals—even if she did hit someone, the worst it could do was bruise.
So why was Rumi bleeding?

With her dad’s old guitar, a few dusty dresses that apparently belonged to some of his cousins and aunts and the songs seared into her memory, Katniss starts unknowingly stepping into the shoes of long forgotten performers and singers whilst also constantly running into her Boy with the Bread making cake deliveries and awakening something in her.
Her discovery of her Covey heritage also gets her involved with the Revolution, becoming a voice for the people of all Districts… and the ghosts Snow thought long buried.

From the day he had looked up into the tops of the circus tent and saw a frightened mirror image of a boy who had just experienced the worst day of his life, Bruce had instantly gone into emergency mode.
The Gotham PD had wanted to pass the boy off into the care of the circus. The circus had mumbled underneath their breaths about superstitions, about not having a boy like that with them, about not being able to handle something like Dick. So GCPD, not knowing what to do, had started talking about one of the handful of overburdened boy homes that handles a majority of Gotham’s unlucky orphans.
All the while, the camera lights flash bright and loud, wanting to know everything.
Bruce couldn’t let that happen.

The Green Lantern Corps has a few main rules: make sure your ring has enough charge before getting into shit, keep your will strong, don't start any interplanetary political incidents, and don't land on any unexplored planets. At least Hal was going for 2/4 today? That was 50%?
Or, Hal Jordan and the Justice League crashland on an unexplored alien planet. Unexplored, as in its natural bacteria and pathogens haven't been catalogued and added to the standard interplanetary travel vaccine yet. Hal knows just how dangerous that is. Unknown bacteria is potentially one of the deadliest things in the universe, since they have no idea what it does or how to combat it. And his ring being almost dead really doesn't make this any better. So yeah, Hal's slightly losing it.
Oh, did he mention that the Justice League is missing?

“Not on the first day,” Vidal counters. “Some clown pulled the alarm.”
“Or some clown set a fire,” Mercedes says, cheerfully.
Nile sighs before she can stop herself. “I wasn’t planning on dying today, and I’d rather not,” she mutters in English.
Isidra snorts, packing away her things. “You millennials and your gallows humor.”
Nile lets herself laugh at that, but not as long as she’d like to.

Joe looked up from his drawing. “But Andy, you already – “ The couch cushion hit him in the face before he could finish. He shielded his head with the sketchbook in anticipation of further attacks. “I just meant you don’t care what people think!”
“He’s got a point,” said Nile. “Yeah, you’ll get grey hair and wrinkles, but you’re kind of already there otherwise.”
It is, of course, more complicated than that.

“What? No, I haven’t,” Nile protests half-heartedly. Has she been that obvious? Joe just raises an eyebrow and turns his sketchbook towards her so she can see the little cartoon he’s drawn of her, flopping to the ground dramatically with a huge “SIGH” speech bubble floating over her head. She laughs at it, because it is quite funny, before shrugging a shoulder.
“It’s stupid. Now that I’m going to say it out loud, it sounds stupid.”
Nicky sits up a little straighter and turns his body toward her. “Tell us anyway.”
“It’s just…” Nile pauses and looks around the Buenos Aires condo they’ve been in for the past three weeks, past the gauzy curtains blowing in the mild summer breeze, and out the window to the view of Recoleta beyond. “It’s January. Where I’m from, January means lake-effect snow and negative windchill, sweaters and warm socks, soup and hot cocoa. Winter. It means winter.”
“Ah,” Joe says succinctly, following her gaze out the window to the summer Argentine sunshine.

Summary
The whole place looked like a slightly deranged mash up of different styles and time periods. The front door was heavy wood set in a foundation of stone, but barely three feet to the left the stone suddenly became weathered brick and rose up two stories, some of the brick extending out over the solid stone of the entrance. On the other side was a single story expansion which was also in stone, but of a completely different style than the initial foundation. Comically plopped on top of that was another floor of just huge glass windows, sort of similar to Copley’s place, looking ridiculous and modern on top of the old stone just below it.

Or, Nile is not very good with kitchen knives, Nicky still has allergies (despite what he says), Joe is really into paper making, Andy can apparently play every instrument known to man, and Booker does care about his family. Oh, and they all cheat at cards.- Language:
