“That’s up to you, but perhaps I can give you a little homework. This week, I want you to make five romantic overtures to people you find interesting. Could be anything. A compliment. A little friendly flirting. You could even try smiling.” Sharon looks like she’s trying to keep her own smile from showing at the teasing.
Roy sighs. Sharon’s homework assignments are usually a pain in his ass but they almost always help him uncover something about himself. Plus it would be good for him to have something he can focus on.
“Fine. I’ll do it. But I’m not telling you any details”
Sharon laughs.
“No, I don’t need proof. Honor system on this one.”
Roy is going to get such a good grade in therapy. He's got a game plan and a strategy and a list of targets. This will be a piece of cake.

Five plus weddings over the course of his barely 12 weeks off? He honestly didn’t even know he knew that many single people.
This does present an issue, though.
There’s no way Jamie Tartt can be seen at a wedding without a plus one. He’s got a reputation to maintain, after all. Not to mention that now that he’s barely drinking, trying to get through a whole wedding and reception without someone there to help distract him sounds like torture.

Sid picks his head up from where he’s sitting at his cubby, still in a half-state of undress before today’s morning skate. His fingers are wrapped around his laces, annoyed at having his intricate lacing routine interrupted by Dan. "The issue" is nebulous enough that it sends a small lance of worry through his chest (at what he doesn’t know but vague language was never Sid’s preferred form of communication). Without meaning to, his gaze flicks over to Geno and the Russian gives the smallest shake of his head. So he doesn’t know either. Huh.
“Apparently,” Dan continues, “with the success of Heated Rivalry and… some plotline in the upcoming season, Bettman is wanting to ‘make the league more inclusive for all.’”

A familiar car pulls up, parking right at the edge of the driveway behind the others. The door opens and shuts. The sound of the water on the tin roof of the cabin is deafening. Once again, Jonny’s feet are cemented into the mud, one moment stretching into a lifetime when Patrick smiles at him, nobody else out here in the pine and the wind and the dark weather. And Jonny is sold on staying, just like that. Would take the twisted blade in his chest a million times over, just for him.
“What the fuck are you standing in the rain for, dipshit?” Patrick shouts.
Jonny mirrors that contagious smile.

“Fuck, I...I’m sorry,” Derek stuttered.
“What?!” The kid’s brow crinkled. “I mean — what?! You’re fucking sorry!?” His lips thinned into a harsh line. “What, is this some kinda Hallmark movie where you’re discovering the error of your ways because you don’t want to rob a blind person?! That’s fucking condescending, man. I’ll have you know that —”
“Just, wait.” Derek interrupted what was apparently the start of a convincing argument as to why he should rob the kid after all, feeling his head start to spin. “This is — it’s a misunderstanding. I’m — I’m not robbing you. You’re — you’re safe, okay? I’m taking three steps back. Just — just let me explain.”
“Explain why you came busting into my apartment? Yeah, go right ahead, man, I can’t wait to hear this epic tale.”
