The last thing they could remember before the nothingness was a sudden wave of raw power. The next thing they could feel was a strange kind of reassuring warmth. Warmth? They had not felt that in centuries! Not since their sire had embraced them. Then again they had been in stranger situations than being suddenly reborn in another time and quite possibly another world as well. Well at least they are not alone, not that they had been in the first place. Their little brother was so adorable, they had always wanted a younger sibling to dote on!

Summary
Kneeling down, Shen Qingqiu waited for the vampire to notice her. Red eyes, framed by long, inky black eyelashes, turned to look at her, and crinkled with happiness. What should have been a sweet, endearing smile triggered sheer horror to run through Shen Qingqiu’s veins. Everyone knew vampires, who needed fresh blood to sustain themselves, owned a pair of sharp fangs that allowed them to feed from other living beings, but where there should have been a pair of healthy fangs were large, gaping wounds.
“Who would do such a thing?” Shen Qingqiu’s thin eyebrows furrowed, horrified anger emanating from her face as she cupped the fledgling’s face. Vampires had no need for warmth, but the fledgling nuzzled against her hands, most likely sensing Shen Qingqiu’s worry. Abandoned and left for dead, it was a miracle this child was still alive.
“Why don’t you come live with me?” Shen Qingqiu patted the fledgling’s head like a small, fluffy animal. “I’ll get you fixed up and then you can be on your merry way.”
Shen Qingqiu takes in a vampire fledgling that reminds her so much of the human child she used to live with.
