Shinsou's life was rough, to say the least. Living on the streets does that to a person. His quirk doesn't make it much better. He has to find a way to get by without being attacked and his few possessions stolen. When a new prospect comes up to help him make it out there, why shouldn't he take it?

Summary
Scott watched as Hollander leaned in, further, to hear Rozanov. This was the part that didn’t entirely make sense to him. The missing piece of something that felt like it was just beyond his reach. This was quiet ease and small moments of comfort and a look that makes the rest of the world fade away. This was how he felt with Kip.
Scott stilled.
It was as if someone had whispered it in his ear. It was as if the final piece of this insane, deranged puzzle finally clicked into place. His heart was pounding in his ears. He was probably wrong. In fact he was entirely wrong. This wasn’t like him and Kip. It couldn’t be Kip. Scott had been watching too many romantic comedies. His head was in the clouds.
But they weren’t touching.
Hollander and Rozanov were as close as they could be, without laying a single finger on one another. They were specifically, rigidly, separate. The warmth between them was bridled. Entirely. And this, Scott realized, his heart sinking into the floor, was also how he had felt with Kip.
Oh. Oh fuck.

Summary
At the 2011 All-Stars game, Scott Hunter notices Hollander and Rozanov, quietly babbling to each other in French and Russian. Scott can’t see the names on their screens as they text, but he suspects it’s one another. Every few moments, there is a kick to the shin from Hollander, a delighted laugh from Rozanov with every ping of their blackberries. He's never seen a friendship quite like this.
As his curiosity is piqued throughout the years, he quickly discovers that it's much, much more. Years later, Ilya Rozanov is going to be grateful for that.

Summary
Shane has his cornerstones of control: Ilya, food, and hockey.
He can keep them all discrete and harmonious - a well-oiled machine.
Hockey belongs on the ice. Shane and Ilya belong at the cottage. Hayden belongs at a distance where Shane doesn't have to explain himself.
Except Hayden really should know about Ilya, shouldn't he? And surely telling him can't blow Shane's life up too much. Ilya doesn't think so, but Ilya routinely asserts that his skates are "too American and trying to humble him", so maybe Ilya's opinions aren't always to be entirely trusted.
OR: Hayden Pike loves Shane a lot. Enough to tolerate the Russian shitbag that is Ilya Rozanov? Well...
