Summary
New Year’s Eve was full of the drunk, the boisterous, and the opportunistic staying up all night and getting into their fair share of trouble. A few liquor store robberies here. A street fight there. Nothing too serious, nothing that wouldn’t wash away with the new year. Batman and Robin went out early, and they had plans to stay out late.
But, for the moment, they were not down in the streets pulling apart brawls or picking up broken window glass. No, Batman and Robin were taking a lunch hour, whatever lunch meant for such night creatures as them. They had a rooftop high above Midtown, two hot dogs, and a slice of cake with forks to share. It was almost midnight, and they had the very best place in town to watch the fireworks.
