Summary
Each place he had stopped had its stories, tales of a gorge that had always been a little eldritch, always temperate and still, always a little too quiet. A place that seemed a little unmoored, with its placid air and its strange, silent tower, even before the fissure had filled with black fog. And Jayce had drunk these tales down like fine spirits, the warning excitingly sharp on his palette, overshadowed by the decadence of his own eagerness.
He looks out over the silent canyon, the glittering, atramentous fog, and finds both the dread and the enchantment in his heart to be as vibrant as ever.
More the fool him.

"I must be getting slow in my old age, but i had the epiphany this morning over my tea and I wanted to express my sincerest congratulations!"
"The epiphany?" Jayce repeats.
"Congratulations?" Viktor echoes.
"Yes! Congratulations!" Heimerdinger toddles over to an unused lab stool and drags it laboriously closer to the chalkboard. "The art of exploration is always more rewarding with a companion, isn't it?"

Summary
Viktor stands still as death in the kitchen doorway, fingers aching from the weight of three grocery bags at he stares dumbfounded at the sight that greets him.
Jayce's shoulders are submerged in the cabinet under the sink, the cleaning supplies necessarily displaced scattered around him on the tile as though he hadn't thought particularly hard about where to set them down; also scattered on the tile are what appear to be, to Viktor's knowledge at least, somewhat key pieces of the sink.
This is not the aspect of the situation that has Viktor pinned where he stands.

“I missed you,” is what he says, and Viktor leans into his touch like it's exactly what he wanted to hear, his free arm wrapping around Jayce's waist in kind. Viktor presses a warm, dewy cheek to Jayce's jaw, and Jayce can feel the smug grin against him.

Summary
This isn’t rare for them— the cuddling, at least. Jayce is a touchy guy. He’s most grounded when he’s in contact with someone, and since he and Viktor basically live in each other's pockets, it’s usually him.
So sometimes when they pull a late night at the lab, they crash together at one of their places. They share a bed when they do, in the interest of both getting restful sleep, and inevitably end up in some form of physical contact. They just have that kind of friendship; when you spend enough time together, eventually your boundaries get a little weird.
Having his hard dick pressed up against Viktor’s ass is new, though.
