Summary
In a world where everything is the same, but at the age of 13, an animal known as a Soulmate Animal appears. This animal acts like their soulmate or shows a sort of resemblance to them. When a person with a soulmate animal finds their soulmate, the animal turns into a matching Pendant. The other half of the Pendant belongs to their soulmate. At the death of their soulmate, the animal returns. Soulmate animals only appear if that person is guaranteed to meet their soulmate. Not everyone has one.

Summary

“Fiiiine,” he whines petulantly, “we don’t have anything better to do anyways. Might as well help you.”
I cheer again, and leap happily at his face, smothering it, “Thank you!”
His hands scrabble at my back, and I hear something oddly like, “I need air” something that comes out garbled. (something more like: “GALPME,INEEBAIR,HALLP.”)
Small hands yank me down off of him, and I fall backward, instinctively, unhesitatingly into Jay’s arms. She sets me on the ground and lightly boops me on the nose before smiling happily at me.
“We can’t go smothering him just yet! You can do that after my sword lessons.” (Shanks sputters angrily in the background (“they just tried to kill me? And you fucking boop their nose??”)

It was supposed to be a normal day. Well, no, not really. Something was off. I couldn’t explain it. It wasn’t part of my usual routine, and I’m not the kind of person who just decides to go on a late-night walk. Especially not for something as mundane as a convenience store run. I knew for a fact I could’ve done it in the morning. But instead? It felt like something—some force—was dragging me out the door, keeping me wide awake until I got it done.
