Earth... The birthplace of humanity, its often called our home, that it belongs to us, but does it really? What lies beneath that thin veil, which operates through shadows, unseen and unfelt, does mankind really have any say in its fate, or are we merely prey to the various monsters and evildoers that lay within?
An unassuming man is sent to an observatory, his job is to collect data and send it back to base, or at least he has been told. You were brawling, in some sort of science lab? With a bunch of other people. Doesn't really matter now that the portal activated and everyone in the room (including the people that were trying to kill you) got sucked into it. Years after a tragic fire swept through Dunkeltaler, the array returns to business as usual, sacrificing canaries to continue operations despite the growing dangers of the forest. Dr. Jay is just one more victim fed to the grinder, slaving away until the woods claim him.
Someone did make it out of Dunkeltaler once, however, and in a move no one would have suspected, he's come back. Dr. Jay is not alone, he has allies who are looking to save not just him, but everyone from what's coming.
