Summary
It had been centuries since he died alone, hiding the very thing that caused him most of his pain, and leaving behind nothing but a legacy of a master assassin.
200 years later he finds himself on foreign land with many questions and little answers, trying hard to not be recognized as he seeks answers from the local Brotherhood, helping them along the way in search of the reason he still lives.
Finding the answer to his most asked question, in a way he would never have expected, he wishes nothing more than to see his family and brothers just one last time and be released from his burdens.

But after he manages to escape the fight with his fingers still attached and no handcuffs around his wrists, he realizes that he's somehow managed to change the past, not just re-live it. How is that possible?

Visi screwed up her face, but did just that. “So, he ever let you, you know?” She gestured to her lap.
Chad’s mouth felt dry. He drained his drink, then set it down. The glass felt a little too soft under his fingers. He knew what she was talking about, but he wasn’t about to take pity on her like that. If she wanted to ask that question, which was none of her fucking business, she needed to actually say it. ”Let me what?”
Courtney huffed, but expanded on her question. “Reciprocate? Do anything beneath the belt?”

Summary
