“What on earth are you wearing?” He was pulled from his musings by Greengrass’ outburst as she looked him up and down, appalled. Harry looked down at himself, at his red Converse with duct tape holding them together, his ratty jeans barely being held up by a spare piece of cord that he’d nicked from a lost and found bin, and an oversized tee shirt that was once white and blue but was so stained by Dudley's messy eating that it was more of a tan and brown at this point.
“Oh,” he grimaced,” they’re hand-me-downs, they used to be my cousin’s.”
“Why don’t you buy some new clothes?” She asked, looking genuinely distressed by his state of dress.
“Well, whenever someone brings me school shopping, I'm told that I should only get the essentials,” he explained, shuffling his feet awkwardly.
“Shoes without holes and clothes that fit are essentials,” Greengrass insisted.
A chance encounter with a kind Slytherin will change the entire course of Harry's Life, and the fate of the entirety of the Wixen world. (or at least the British part)

Shane sat on the edge of the lounger, his eyes fixed on Ilya’s hands as he rolled. He was in total awe. Watching Ilya was like watching a master craftsman; there was a fluid sort of grace to the way his large, scarred fingers manipulated the delicate paper. The hands that spent all winter punching pucks and shoving opponents were suddenly performing a task that required the precision of a watchmaker.
He licked the adhesive strip with a quick swipe of his tongue and sealed it, twisting the end into a neat point.
“Fuck” Shane nearly moaned.
Ilya chuckled. “We have not even started moy kotenok. Be patient.”
Ilya grabbed the lighter from the table and lit the end, the cherry glowing a bright, steady orange. He took a small, controlled puff to ensure it was burning evenly, then turned to Shane. “Okay. Do not pull like you are gasping for air. Just a soft breath. Into the mouth, then take a little fresh air with it to the lungs. Then, hold it for a second before breathing out.”
Or: After figuring out some patterns and doing research, Shane smokes weed for the first time and thoroughly enjoys himself.

Summary
A mostly crackfic series that asks, what if Shane and Ilya were slightly out of character? Shane is bitchier, Ilya is manic and philosophical, Cliff Marleau and the Boston boys take turns babysitting their crashing-out captain, and Shane finally gets recognized as the pretty, funny, sassy player he is.
Nothing is too serious about this, it's a mix of show and book canon, and a healthy dose of fanon (himbo king Cliff). Ilya is allowed to catch feelings early, as a treat and Shane is allowed to let his inner mean girl out.
Please enjoy these silly boys and their silly relationships! Four works so far with more to come! How much more? I don't know! They keep doing silly things and my brain keeps writing it down.

He’d done a good job at getting under Shane’s skin, over confident and stereotypical Dom that he was, and, after a weirdly charged ad shoot that had Shane scurrying back to his hotel room before he had even showered, he had never stopped. Drafted as rivals, made even more infamous by the idea of Dom vs Sub, Rozanov had never skipped a chance to chirp at him, pretending to flirt, calling him pretty - not handsome, not cool, pretty, it didn’t matter that Shane was a Sub, in the sports world, that read as an insult - and grinding his gears until they were sanded down to nothing. Shane Hollander fucking hated Ilya Rozanov. And Ilya Rozanov would not leave him alone.
