Summary
Six years have passed since the fall of Origin.
Terence Bellamie has kept his promise. With Kihel now grown and a small band of surviving Dragoons at his side, he travels across Valisthea protecting ordinary people and teaching them how to protect themselves. It is not the life he once imagined, but it is a good one.
Then a village troubled by beasts introduces them to a mysterious traveller called Tristan, a sorrowful, homeless man who sleeps in barns, works for his meals, and handles a lance with skill no ordinary wanderer should possess.
Terence knows those movements.
He has known them since they were boys.
And when Tristan sees him and runs, Terence follows.
Dion Lesage survived Origin. But after three years spent healing and another three wandering Valisthea alone, surviving has become much easier than believing he still has somewhere to belong.
Terence intends to remind him.

Summary
He leaned back in his chair, removed his glasses, and facepalmed. That shouldn’t have been a surprise. Nearly every other family from Oriflamme to Twinside named their first son after the Eikon of Light from a millennium ago. It was a timeless name—a bold one. Terence encountered one Dion in each of his history classes.
But none of them were Dion Lesage. And he knew one by that very name.
Or at least he had.
A thousand years ago, a devoted knight bids his prince farewell. A thousand years later, Terence is assigned a group partner for his college history class—someone he knows quite well and hasn’t seen in a decade.
