Summary
It’s a little funny, Zhongli Quan thinks, that the first time they met, he’d given his sect robes to Lü Dongbin as well. Now, Lü Dongbin is here, standing in Zhongli Quan’s robes once again. There are fifteen years of growing-up wearing them down, but the look in Lü Dongbin’s eyes has remained the same, all this time. The way he looks at Zhongli Quan has not changed, even if Zhongli Quan has.
“I told you that I don’t regret what I did,” Zhongli Quan says, “and that remains true. If shidi is the only person I could save, I would still choose to do everything again the very same way.”
Or: Zhongli Quan goes to find Lü Dongbin after leaving Zhongnan Shan.

“Shidi-ah,” Zhongli Quan says, his voice pitched higher than his usual register, and oh, He Xiangu thinks, she really should leave before she throws up in front of their door, “I’ll make it quick, hm?” There’s a rustle of clothing or something or whatever, she doesn’t want to dwell on it. She turns on her heel to leave. “What do you say, Wuxin Chang gege?”
He Xiangu freezes for a good few seconds. Then, against all better judgement and all clear thinking, she shoves the door of their room open.
Or: He Xiangu finds out that Lü Dongbin is Wuxin Chang, in possibly the worst way ever.
