Really Shane should have known better than to answer the call, but they had planned on calling each other later that night so if Ilya was calling now it could be because of an emergency. Shane would never forgive himself if something was wrong and he ignored his boyfriend's call.
So, when his phone lit up with a call from Lily, Shane paused the conversation with his parents to answer it.
