Summary
Ghost presses him back into the wall, an arm across his throat, a hand down his pants, and Soap's already moaning for it, hard and aching for Simon's touch, tipping his head back for a kiss, relishing in the way it presses Ghost's arm (so strong, so aware of his own strength, so careful) against his windpipe, just enough to be delicious, to make his head spin and leave him desperately wanting the kiss to follow.
~~~
Or, Incubus!Ghost has an encounter, a revelation, and swiftly looses what is left of his already dubious good sense.
Summary
The Captain's cabin has been heavily modified in a way that might account for the odd way the ship had behaved in the water as they chased it down. There was a hole in the floor, and fresh timber showing recent modifications to the roof.
All of this had clearly been necessary to account for the brutally pruned Oak tree that still spanned at least two decks, disappearing down through the floor into the hold below. It was a sorry sight, nearly all the branches bare and harshly truncated, the remaining leaves wilting and discolored
Even worse was the man.
Grey-brown skin shaded into sun-touched green around the eyes and trailing up towards finely pointed ears and into the hairline, textures varying from smooth as heartwood to rough bark, to tender leaf-like hair.
A fucking dryad, in the middle of the blessed fucking ocean, surrounded on all sides by salt water.
Summary
Cody needed resources, he needed intelligence.
Cody had a neutron star in his chest, the collapsed remains of a life, a culture, of brothers as numerous as stars on a clear night, winked out like candles in a storm, pain and anguish and supernova fury collapsed down into sucking black.
“I,” he said carefully, looking directly into Bail’s eyes, letting the humor, the battlefield calm, the control fall away, until endless graveyards of white plastoid reflected back out of amber eyes. “Am going to wrest every single one of my brothers out of the grip of that miserable sack of filth and decay that calls itself ‘Emperor.' I’m not going to stop until they are free, and I’m not going to turn aside for anything.”
Summary
“Missed you.”
Rex laughs, soft and bright in the starlight.
“You saw me yesterday.”
“I always miss you,” Cody returns, frank and honest, not flinching away from the two foundational truths of his life that statement encompasses, both the bitter and the sweet:
He and Rex will separate, again and again, to the call of orders and circumstances beyond their control.
Cody will love him through all of it, and into whatever comes after.
~~~
Cody, and Rex, and a series of meetings -- and partings -- over the years.

Summary
When Tony woke up, there was a strange man standing over his bed, staring down at him with a knife in his hand.
Tony said, "Cool arm," instead of screaming like he wanted to.
When Hydra sent the Winter Soldier to kill Howard and Maria Stark, they sent him to kill Tony, as well. Which was stupid of them. Because what better revenge than to live, and live using their tech?

Bookmarker's Notes
This is absolutely incredible. It was hot too, of course, but gods, the emotional impact, and *Damian*, and Dick’s reaction, and interactions. It was everything I loved about them as partners, brought into a future we will now never get to see. A natural yet chilling outgrowth of Damian’s upbringing explored and mitigated as he grows up away from the League of Shadows, and especially through Dick’s presence.
If you have even the slightest tolerence for dD, you should read this. If you love it like I do, this is an absolute must.
I tip my hat to kleine-asbar for a job magnificently done.
