Summary
Major Evan Lorne is abruptly transferred to Pegasus in the second wave of reinforcements for the Siege of Atlantis but then finds himself in charge of things he isn't supposed to be in charge of, doing jobs he doesn't know how to do. Fortunately, Lorne has a mild superpower to help him out, and he taxes it to the max in this sombre story.

This fic follows the events from Teyla’s abduction by Michael until they find her again, through Lorne’s eyes, and sheds some light on hologram-McKay’s question about why General Lorne helped him set in motion his crazy saving-John-and-the-galaxy plan (set during episodes The Kindred 1 [S4Ep18] through to Search & Rescue [S5Ep1]).
