Summary
Edwin seemed so… vulnerable, barefoot and in his thin cotton combinations or whatever they were called, the top button of the shirt undone and the neckline just low enough to show his collarbones. Charles remembered how they had felt under his hands when he'd held on to Edwin on those stairs…
Maybe that was what gave Charles the idea.
Edwin finds himself in a state of undress, but luckily Charles knows just the thing...

Summary
Edwin’s usually a bit more resilient, but his energy's been pretty messed up since Port Townsend. Esther’s machine really did a number on his energy and magic reserves—more than Edwin admits, but Charles knows it's true. So when Edwin exhausts himself on a case, it's up to Charles to help him rest.
Charles squeezes Edwin’s shoulders again, shifting on his knees ‘til he’s right close enough to partly block out the sight of the basement. “Eds, look at me,” he says, waiting patiently for green eyes to turn his way. Telegraphing his movements, he takes one hand from Edwin’s shoulder and presses his palm to the center of Edwin’s chest. “I’m gonna take you home, you just gotta let go for me.” Edwin’s chest heaves once, twice beneath his hand, fighting for non-existent breaths.
Strained and tired, Edwin grits out, “I can’t.” Which happens sometimes, when Edwin gets too worked up, too strung out, too in his own head; it’s like he’s stuck on high alert with no way to relax.- Language:
