He stayed silent for another long moment and a muscle in his jaw clenched before he swallowed thickly. “I need a suit. Is it possible to have it for Thursday?”
Every word was clipped, as though the very last thing in the world he wanted was to be saying them. Kate blinked at him, “Tailoring a suit for… Three days time is… very tight.”
“Thursday is in four days.” He held his fingers up matter-of-factly.
“I assume you’d want to collect it Wednesday, if the event’s on Thursday.”
He let out a dark chuckle. “The event. Right.”
Kate ignored him, “I have… some things that are already partly done that might be workable. I think with your colouring a sapphire blue would-“
“It can’t be blue.”
“Okay,” Kate sighed trying to forge ahead, “I’ll try to work within your preferences but we’re a bit limited for time-”

Heat spread across Ilya's face. His mouth fell open slightly. He let out a short, stuttered laugh of disbelief. This couldn't- he was straight, he wasn't-
“Finally got you at your own game.” Shane's smirk widened to a smile, his hand clapping down on Ilya's shoulder to squeeze it slightly. For once in his life, Ilya was unable to find his voice.

Ilya hesitated, staring at the number. He was captain of Hollander’s new team. It would have been completely normal, if not expected, that he would reach out to him soon. But his hand had turned to lead, his finger hovering over the “Call” button. What would he even say?
“Hey Hollander. Sorry your team dumped you out of nowhere after building them a dynasty and you’re being shipped back to your hometown to play on an historically shitty team, captained by me, the guy who you’ve been pitted against your whole career and built up a decade’s worth of resentment towards, not to mention the fact that we sucked each other’s dicks that one time years ago and then pretended that it never happened.
