A smile forming at seeing Ilya’s bedhead and absolutely being drained from them reuniting after a few weeks. It had been the playoffs, they had to be separated (team superstition rules), and it had worked because they had won. But it had come at a cost.
“Ya tak schastliv. Ya tebya lyublyu”, Ilya whispered and kissed Shane’s forehead. (I missed you. I love you.)
Shane looked at him, “I know what the second part means, I love you too. But what does the first part mean?”
“Ya tak schastliv.” Ilya smiled, thinking he was saying it back to him in English. (I missed you).
“Ilya, this isn’t funny.”
