Summary
Once Rumi was chosen by the honmoon, Celine made it clear she could not die before the next hunters. The honmoon had been reforged by Mi-Yeong's love of Rumi, and Celine’s love of Mi-yeong. If Rumi were to die before three replacements could mend it, she would be assuring the destruction of the world as they knew it.

Faced with the betrayal of a single moment, Rumi flees. She would protect the honmoon at all costs, even if that means a life hiding from the people she believes will kill her. Even if the honmoon abandons her along the way.

Summary
Rumi had told herself she would go to the club, have a few drinks, and be friendly to anyone who talked to her. She didn't have to go out of her way to interact, but she would try not to shy away from anyone initializing casual conversation or even light flirting. Just dip a toe back into the world, get herself out there a little bit. She wasn't looking to date, she wasn't looking for sex, she just wanted to show herself she was capable of being normal. This was her next baby step on the road to one day being a fully functioning member of the human race again. She was nowhere near ready for anything more than that.
-No one knows you here. No one cares here. It's fine. You're fine.
But her pep talk did nothing to assuage her panic. She sighed, shoulders slumping in defeat, and turned to leave-
-and ran straight into someone.
Rumi let out a startled sound as she stumbled back, hearing the woman let out her own ‘oomph’ from the impact, two hands grabbing her arms and steadying her. Her eyes quickly took in the sight of the tall pink haired woman she had run into as well as the shorter black haired girl who had shot her hands out to catch her.

Under all of it, threaded through her like a wire through a wrist, that thin dark line that ran straight back to him and had been there, he realized, the entire time. Eight months. He had felt it every single day and called it something else.
He closed his eyes.
"Oh," he said. "Oh, you idiot."
The baby howled.
"Not you." He put a hand on the back of her head, which was smaller than his palm. "Not you."
Below them, very far below, something enormous began, slowly, to notice that it had been robbed.

"Yeah," Zoey breathes, somewhere behind her. Rumi can't see her, but feels the weight of her against her spine. "Fuck indeed."
