Summary
Forced to stay.
The thought immediately bothered Yuri. Of course, Jiro needed him as a doctor, that was obvious! But did that mean he was forced to stay? Yuri briefly looked up toward his assistant, who was examining the latest results of the anomaly they were supervising. He must have stared a bit too long, because their eyes met, and Yuri felt his cheeks flush slightly."Is there a problem?" Jiro asked him, his voice as steady as ever.
"N-No, absolutely none, why would there be a problem?! Your treatment is almost ready!"
"All right. But your sleeve is catching fire."
"What are you talking ab...!!!"______________________

Summary
He wasn't ready to face Bruce. Not ready to lie to him again. There was only one night left, right? And he could simply not show up, even if that meant losing his deposit. Deep down, it wasn’t really about the money (even though they would inevitably ask him where such an amount had gone, because of course they checked his accounts). And when they looked into it closely, well... They’d end up discovering the whole truth. They’d know that John Doe was just a failure, fit to go back to Arkham, because he would never succeed at anything, anything, anything, ANYTH—
“John.”
A hand on his shoulder brought him back to reality.

Summary
Inside, everything was dark, silent, oppressive. The walls, blackened and cracked, seemed to whisper echoes of a shared dream between two former partners. Jayce moved slowly, his hammer dragging behind him, leaving a trail in the dust and ash. With each step, the regrets intensified, bitter despair that made him want to scream across the room, just to hear his own cry tear at his ears.
And then, he saw him.

Summary
Expelled. The word had stung more than he’d expected, and Jayce no longer knew what to do now that reality had caught up with him. He couldn’t go back, and he wasn’t even sure he would have changed anything if he could. He had done what he needed to do, said what he needed to say; unfortunately, it hadn’t been well received. But should he have denied his research and his dreams for people who were so clearly stuck in the past?

Summary
He then opened his eyes and turned back, staring at the ceiling, lulled by the distant sound of the shower. Since when did Jayce Talis stay chatting with someone until unlikely hours, forgetting any notion of time? Except with me. His lips pinched. You are jealous, Viktor. Vexed by his own thoughts, he shook his head and blew in a low voice:
“I’m not jealous.”
