Summary
“It’s not about frickin’ money, B,” Jason grumbled, readjusting his ice pack.
“Yeah, B,” Dick put in, lighthearted, teasing. Rescuing the emotional tone as usual, when he wasn’t the one who was angry with Bruce himself. “It’s not about the money. It’s Robin tradition. You can’t renege now.”
“You want me to be the tooth fairy. Again. For you,” Bruce said, slowly, still looking at Jason.
(Bruce is Trying Hard, but his children are so very complicated, always, and none of the parenting manuals seem to have advice for situations like this.)

Summary
Jason Todd has spent three weeks planning the perfect operation.
One uninvited Dark Knight later, the plan is on fire — literally — and Jason finds himself behind the wheel of a runaway truck with no brakes, a bomb in the hold, and Batman sitting calmly in the passenger seat.
What Batman does next is either the most infuriating or the most Bruce Wayne thing he has ever done. Possibly both.
He was going to die in a box truck in Gotham City traffic learning to drive stick from a man in a bat costume and it was going to be Bruce's fault and Bruce would feel terrible about it for the rest of his life, and that was almost satisfying except for the part where Jason was dead. Again. Second time.

Summary
Jason is not particularly looking at anything, his gaze seems lost as he grips the cold glass like a lifeline. He looks so young right now, Dick thinks and his stony expression makes him seem even younger. He looks like those children who act like adults to be taken seriously, but only succeed in looking more like children in the process.
“Ok, you really need to tell me what happened. I can’t send you back to Bruce like this.”
From Jason’s tiny flinch he realizes that this was probably the wrong thing to say.
“Bruce does not want me anymore.”
Or, following the Garzonas case, Jason runs away to Dick thinking Bruce wants to kick him out. Dick realizes that he might not know the new Robin as well as he thinks he does. Lots of things get revealed in the process and lots of crying ensues. Dick is so grateful he didn’t go to that space mission.
Or, What if Dick was on earth when Jason ran away?
