But here, in this illusion that was so elaborately built and powerfully enacted, not only did his borrowed sharingan fail to dispel the illusion but it made him believe that he was still five, that his father just died, that Kakashi did not possess the sharingan at all.
This was not his nightmare, the copy-nin realized with growing horror. This was every shinobi's nightmare.

Summary
Fox comes back to himself somewhere in the tar-black guts of Coruscant. He comes to, like he's walking through sludge, feet scraping across— sand? gravel? —the ground in the subconscious way someone breathes. There's something heavy slung across his shoulder, and he almost topples, swaying back and forth like a buoy on Kamino's surface. An awful stench seeps through the filter of his bucket.
There are five thousand, one hundred and twenty-seven levels between the Senate Building and the long-drained ocean floor of Coruscant.

Summary
The Coruscant Guards have been getting gaps in their memories—blackouts, they call it—and Fox is doing his best to keep his men from: letting this ongoing issue cause havoc among his people, get caught by anyone not in the Guards, and finding out that this problem is also affecting Fox. Unfortunately for him, Quinlan Vos has never heard of privacy in his life and insists on invading every part of Fox's life.
