Martyn knew what he was. He knew after the wings had been spliced into his code and forced out of his skin, he knew after he began to taste the emotions on others, he knew after they'd told him what he was. He couldn't forget it, couldn't forget what he was.
So when he was told to create Games- things for fear, for Them to feed off of? For himself to feed off of? He did it, he came up with ideas, sent them to those in charge and he never asked after them.

They're not sure where exactly it is they are. They know so few things, they know they are an Inspector, they know that something horrible is coming- has it already come? They're not sure.
They're only sure about the fact that they're an Inspector, and that this town they're in is filled with fear and despair, partially ruined yet still intact in a way that should not be yet is possible. The town they're in feels haunted, feels as if it's been broken down and rebuilt.

Summary
Humans are largely an undocumented species in the greater universe. All who had ever tried to reach the outer cosmos had not survived; all but one, that is.
X, also known as Xisuma, found himself on the other side of the universe with nothing but what he had on him when he was taken. He decided that this was a prime opportunity to screw around and find out. One by one, Xisuma assembled the crew of the Hermitcraft, a ragtag team of misfit aliens from all across the cosmos. He showed them kindness and compassion, different than anything they ever knew, and they became stronger together.
This is how the crew of The Hermitcraft came to be.
