"Optimus Prime," Alpha Trion interrupted Optimus' barely contained panic, "In the time of the Golden Age of Cybertron, warframes were at the whim of Civilians. In honor of your heroism, we thought it best to reintroduce a tradition. As your Conquest, Megatron is to be surrendered into your custody as your concubine."
After the final battle in Detroit, Megatron is brought to justice. That justice apparently involves being thrust upon Optimus Prime as his berth slave, forcing Optimus to navigate their new, unwanted relationship without compromising his morals.
