Summary
“All right, miladdo,” he announced with a slightly smug nasal twang. “I think you’ve had quite enough of a lie-in for one day. It’s time for you to get out of bed and actually make an attempt at a passable impression of a human being for a change.”
Lister – or at least a lump beneath a blanket that Rimmer presumed was Lister – groaned and curled slightly further in on itself.
“Smeg off, Rimmer,” Lister’s voice was tight and thin with discomfort. “I’m not in the mood today, ok?”

“You’re up early.”
In the half light, he can hear more than see Rimmer startle, the slight creak of his seat and the shuffling of his feet against the floor. He turns slightly, the light catching the silver streaks in his hair, and looks over his shoulder at Lister, hanging back in the doorway of their bunkroom.

Summary
Alternate title: 4 times Rimmer struggled to ask for things that he wanted/needed after the torment he suffered during Rimmerworld, and 1 time Lister knew what he needed before Rimmer did.
Lister knows something happened to Rimmer during those 557 years on Rimmerworld. A planet inhabited by clones of the one person who hated him the most? The one person who punished him to ensure he never got what he wanted? It was never going to end well.
And it hasn’t. And the worst part is, Rimmer won’t talk about it. In fact, sometimes he won’t talk at all.
