Summary
Ruby Kotnik is a woman in her thirties seeking employment as a housekeeper when she stumbles across a live-in opportunity at a renowned herpetologist's mansion. The herpetologist lives with his three adopted children; they all recently survived a dangerous ordeal in which the wretched Count Olaf tried to murder Dr. Montgomery and whisk the children away to Peru. Luckily the count's plot failed, and he is gone and on the lam... for now.
