Summary
Set in the aftermath of an alternative Season 4. In this universe, Supergirl and Alex never leave the DEO during the Season 4 timeline, and instead use it’s resources to battle anti-alien sentiment stirred up by Lex, who has escaped prison. Kara gives Lena a signal watch after Lex escapes prison to keep her safe. Lena ends their friendship after Lex reveals Supergirl’s identity to her; neither she nor Kara kill him, but he does die. Alex briefly and unsuccessfully attempts to mediate Lena’s falling out with Kara, and Lena cuts her off as well, unable to get past Kara’s betrayal and everyone else’s role in it. Lena throws herself into her work at LCorp working on a medical passion project she’s been devoted to for years, while Kara continues her work at CatCo and the DEO. They have no contact with each other.

“I care about you,” Kara shot back and Lena sneered.
“Because you’re still deluded that we could be friends again.”
Kara scoffed, hurt. “Friends?” The next words erupted from her like a volcano. “Lena, I’m in love with you.”
