She was not just a broken child. Not just a weapon. She was a genius.

So he made a choice that would change everything: he let her learn not only from him, but from Singed as well.

Under Silco, Jinx learned power, fear, loyalty, and survival. Under Singed, she would learn science, flesh, death, shimmer, and the terrible secrets hidden inside living things. Her madness did not disappear. It sharpened. It became invention. And she would now have a different type of madness.

This is an alternate universe of Arcane. A What-if where Jinx does not become only Silco’s loose cannon. She becomes Zaun’s mad scientist, engineer, and weaponsmith. A girl who decides that if Piltover rules through Hextech, gold, and authority, then Zaun must answer with shimmer, steel, and chaos. Jinx will became the counterpart of Jayce for Zaun.

Her greatest creation is the Mechanical Man: a guardian born from trauma, ambition, hatred and love. A protector who will never abandon her. Never sleep. Never die. Never hesitate.

“But I don’t want to!”
“But you must! Jinx… You think you honor your sister by searching for her corpse amongst the shoals of serpents? You don’t. And I am choosing now to quit protecting you from your delusions. You must remember your sister’s dream — that one day her precious Powder would rule the ranks as the academy’s brightest and best! The absolute paragon of our people. This was her hope for you, Jinx. This is how you honor her.”
“But I don’t want to be Powder again!” Jinx cried. She ran her fingers across her eyes, tracing bits of the fresh wetness aside.
“And I will never ask you to be,” Silco promised.

Even now, she may have lingered here too long. She has to leave when the streets are quiet and the darkness is easy to hide in. She shouldn’t risk being seen leaving Vi’s apartment in the morning, not risk the gossip of her being with an employee, contract or otherwise in such incriminating circumstances. And especially not Vi. She cannot be known to be fraternizing with the Undercity woman she’s already facing multiple scandals for bringing, and defiantly keeping, on her workforce. Vi is the only person she can fully trust, and Caitlyn needs to keep her.
Even if that means Caitlyn can’t truly have her.

Vi makes Caitlyn an offer she has to refuse.
