this whole thing is kind set in season 6 ep...... before they catch Red John is all you need to know sooo spoilers- kinda.- what if the world the team live in is complicated more than it already is, with so many rules and restriction for Jane to break and what makes the beings that called humans, humans. witches burning era caused a curse to fall on humanity for cruel act without rationality thus they were given what they were pretending to lack, for rationality would leave them whether they think they're above it or not. it's the consequence of their action and that's a curse not even current witches would be able to lift. like how the history has burned innocent people could never change.
