They start out so mild that he doesn't even notice at first, until he thinks he's just coming down with something. Then, they get worse and worse, and Peter definitely feels sick, but not like he has a cold. It's sick like he needs something, like something is wrong or missing and he can't figure out what it is. There's something that will fix him, and he needs to get it, and the need is desperate and aching in his chest, but he can't identify what it could possibly be. He's already tried NyQuil.
Eventually, he gets so sick that he has to call someone, as much as he doesn't want to.

At first, she hides the fact that Peter is Spider-Man from him because she knows he's too injured to be recklessly web-slinging around the city. But as Peter heals and MJ sees more and more of the man he is without the burden of Spider-Man hanging over him, she isn't sure she has the strength to tell him. Why can't she let him stay happy, at least for a little while longer?
