Lucky accidentally walks to Rustboro from Fallarbor, and must find a way back up the mountain to get her fourth gym badge.
Rustboro tunnel feels like such an afterthought in the games. The miner NPC says he's spent years digging the tunnel, but he's stopped by a rock you can smash when you have two badges. It doesn't make any sense, so I'm doing him some justice as well. Inspired by my current playthrough of Emerald Crest.

“Sure we do!” Wind replied eagerly. “It’s like a little fairy creature… thing.”
A sudden blast of dark magic burst from said “fairy creature thing.” Like a battering ram, twice the size of its caster, it shot past them and slammed into a poor chu-chu that had been sneaking up on them. The jelly-like monster didn’t get thrown back, no, the force of the spell simply exploded it into blue bits of goo.
They stared in utter shock. Then, abruptly, Wind whirled onto Legend, an eager, almost feral glint in his eyes. "Can we keep it?"

Summary
For their entire life, Luz Noceda and her daemon Mari have been doing this whole being a human-daemon pair thing wrong. Stumbling over unsaid rules and forms that weigh on their shoulders, all they’ve ever done is mess things up, and make life all the harder for their mom. At least, until they made the biggest choice of all, stumbling into a magical fantasy world and deciding to stay there, to learn magic and become a witch.
But witches aren’t just magical creatures of myth. They’re those who don’t Settle right. Daemons who speak when they aren’t supposed to. Kids who never grow up fast enough. Witches are people who break the first law of the world, the given that governs society.
Witches are those who Unsettle.
