He's going to blame it on Hydra because Sam freaking Wilson has the most beautiful wings Bucky has ever seen in his long albeit crazy life. And he wants to show him up. Show him he can fly just as well as he can
But he can't.
Because angels shouldn't be seen with devils. He flits away from the door and back to his room. Pepper doesn't even notice.
Or: Bucky makes Sam's problems his. The repercussions are more than he can hope for.

He never should have left the tree. Gone to the TVA. Met Mobius. Fell in love. He never should have left his set path. He should have continued to float in space until it killed him, never meeting the Titan or another soul again. And with the worlds crowding around him, crushing him, he wishes he had never been born.

He had felt his grasp on the peaceful fragile existence for himself, for themselves, slip. Now, he stands before its shattered pieces.He dares not move. He would shatter to pieces here and now himself, if he dared so much as twitch a finger. He hardly even wonders what the humans crowding Whickber Street just like any other old place in London Soho might see. A dark man-shaped being next to a vintage car, keeping cool composure. Probably not even as much. It's reality, angel, no one notices anything.
There is Aziraphale’s voice, distant and muffled behind the window. He seems to be struggling for words. “I … I think I …”
And then it all goes very quickly.“I can’t. I made a mistake.”

A little play on: What if Aziraphale really did finish his sentence after “I think I …” when the Metatron came to take him back to Heaven after the kiss? What if he did actually say, “I think I made a mistake”? What if he changed his mind? What if Crowley did not have to wait by the Bentley just to watch Aziraphale leave?
