Summary
A warbling growl coming from the plush carpeted area in front of the couch replied. The sickening sound of crunching bones filled the air, followed by a sob of pain that made Mira’s blood run cold.
Rumi.
Something had her. Something had her and was killing her.
White-hot fury surged and Mira didn’t hesitate. She rushed forward, vaulting over the couch and landing with a flourish and brandishing her gok-do at the monster in their living room.
She heard Zoey land beside her, not taking her eyes off the scene.The carpet was gouged out with deep claw marks, and in the center was a hulking shape covered in purple fur, adorned with almost glowing white stripes.
It was a tiger, larger than any she was sure existed. It was bent over, claws raking over the already ruined carpet and it’s breathing was labored. Looking up, it’s head turned slightly, exposing fangs that dripped with dark red blood.

“Well, we did suggest commissioning cosplays. That way we don’t need to worry about it ourselves,” Rumi added, a hand on Zoey’s tense shoulder.
“I don’t- we would need to find someone then, which is also work, and decide what group to be and who is who. You two can cosplay. It’ll be fine.”
“We’ve already picked out a group. Do you not like cosplay?” Mira leaned in. “We want you to have fun too. I’d feel bad if you got left out, Zoey. Can you please tell us w-”
Zoey turned her head, brows furrowed. “Mira. I’ve never asked you once about your childhood or your parents. So just drop it,” Zoey snapped, then exhaled. “I don’t wanna talk about it, it’s early in the morning, we are watching The Last Airbender, can you please just…leave it?”

The girls get an offer to preform at a concert in LA, on the same weekend that LACC is taking place. Mira and Rumi seem excited and insist on going but Zoey has...reservations. Someone she's tried to bury and move on from.
