Summary
“Thank you for coming, Nightwing,” he greets without turning around. He doesn’t want to lose his view of what’s happening down there. He mentally prepares for what’s about to happen. Dick never misses out on a chance to touch his family and, unsurprisingly, a warm hand lands on his shoulder. Tim leans in towards Dick’s hand, a barely perceptible movement.
“I’m just happy you’re asking for help, baby brother.” How can someone sound so fond and genuine, without a hint of sarcasm?
Tim lacks that ability, and he can’t resist turning towards his brother when he replies. “Coming from you, that’s rich. You would have been shot in your civvies if Oracle hadn’t sounded the alarm.” He sounds snarky without really wanting to be. A baby brother’s privilege, presumably.
Dick laughs, embarrassed, and rubs his neck, a nervous gesture he just doesn’t seem to be able to get rid of, no matter how much he tries. “We should have training for the whole family.”
”That might not be a bad idea.”

Summary
”Tack för att du kom, Nightwing,” hälsar han utan att vända sig om. Han vill inte tappa uppsikten över det som händer där nere, så han förbereder sig mentalt på det som kommer. Dick missar aldrig en chans att röra vid sin familj och mycket riktigt landar en varm hand på hans axel. Tim lutar sig mot Dicks hand, en knappt märkbar rörelse.
”Jag är bara glad att du ber om hjälp, lillebror.” Hur kan någon låta så innerlig och uppriktig, utan den minsta lilla antydan till sarkasm?
Tim har inte samma förmåga, och han kan inte låta bli att vända sig mot sin bror när han svarar. ”Ska du säga. Du skulle blivit skjuten i dina civilkläder om inte Oracle hade gripit in.” Han låter spydig utan att egentligen vilja vara det. Ett lillebrorsprivilegium, antar han.
Dick skrattar lite generat och gnuggar sig över nacken, en nervös gest som han inte lyckats träna bort hur mycket han än försöker. ”Vi borde ha övningar för hela familjen.”
”Det vore kanske inte en dum idé.”

Tim had been working on a smuggling case and was currently tracing money, which Jason would know if he cared to take a closer look. Tim knew what he was trying to imply. He was almost too tired to care.
“Sue me for not having the luxury of doing things the easy way.”
“The easy way?” Tim mimicked shooting a gun with his hand and shrugged.
“Killing is simple. A bullet or two and all you have to handle is the cleanup,” which wasn’t true everywhere but certainly applied to crime alley.
“And what you do is so much more complicated, huh?”

“Alfie,” he begins, throat tight. He stops for a second, regroups, thinks. “Do you remember when we went to see Macbeth together?”
“And Swan Lake, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Hamlet,” says Alfred with a slightly wistful smile. “Do you know, Master Jason, that despite our monthly outings to the theatre, we never got to see my personal favourite?”
"What's that, Alfie?"
"Why, Hamilton, of course."
