Loid was planning that trip for about two months now, the spy made sure that everything was fine and going accordingly. They would arrive at the designated hotel at 8:32 AM and do the check-in; they would get to the bedroom at 8:45 AM at max and would leave the things there to go to the beach that was right at the exit of the building.
Everything is alright.
He just didn't expected a change in his beautiful plan.

“Shit, Bridges, I know you’re a bit dense, but surely not that dense?” Higgs asks and pulls back a little so he can look Sam in the eye. “What does it feel like I’m doing, hm?”
“It feels like you’re dry humping me like a damn dog while talking about our shared ability to feel each other die,” Sam mumbles, slightly disgruntled. “Excuse me if I’m a little confused.”

The peace doesn’t seem as fragile anymore, the society has started moving on to different issues. They will still be on everyone’s lips when they reveal their relationship, however they had their time to enjoy these first intoxicating months without public scrutiny. The return of the spotlight will be unpleasant but this, too, will pass. They’ll endure in order to eventually find their own private peace together.
