Tim wishes he could say the mission was supposed to be simple, and that everything flying off the rails was sudden and unexpected, but he can’t.
The plan gave them all a bad feeling right from the start.
Obviously they go through with it anyway, because they’re Bats and are notorious for jumping into flaming shit just to wiggle their way back out.
And, to their credit, things didn’t start going horrifically wrong until at least a quarter of the way in.

Tim doesn't sleep much, and as a result he hallucinates sometimes. He keeps hallucinating a pair of green eyes in the dark.
At the same time he struggles with his place in the fractured batfamily, and tries chasing the Red Hood, who surely is completely unrelated to these green eyes he keeps seeing... right?cue kidnappings, bad decisions, and a whole lot of food!
a bit angsty, but with a happy ending because i REFUSE to write sad ones. title is from "people got a lotta nerve" by neko case :)
