Charlie let out a sigh of relief at Tori’s easy agreement. He felt the tiniest bit better knowing Nick was about to be in his room. Nick always made everything better, but that didn’t change the facts of the situation he was in.
He relapsed.

All this to say, I’m not all that bothered by the number thirteen. Tao was going on in the common room the other day about how weird it is that the most important year of our lives so far is literally an unlucky number. I asked did he think we should just skip straight to Year Fourteen like hotels do with floors and he dithered but began to say yes.
I don’t need luck. I have Nick, and he has me, and we have the rest of our lives.
