I wrote this about 13 years ago! I originally put it on another site that I can't access anymore so thought I would put it here... sorry about that!
This was my first ever attempt at fanfic writing so some constructive criticism would be good but please be gentle with me

Summary
Shane Hollander desperately needs to disappear.
After a spectacularly awful week, a remote Yorkshire cottage seems like the perfect place to hide from the press, rediscover himself, and drink an irresponsible amount of tea.
Unfortunately, the cottage isn't empty.
The Russian stranger insists it’s his, but Shane has paperwork that says otherwise.
It's just after midnight, there's a storm outside, the roads are probably flooded, and the only available weapon is a stuffed fish.
Clearly, this is all Svetlana's fault.
They're both convinced the cottage belongs to them and they're both refusing to leave.
A Yorkshire romcom.

Summary
“Boys, I appreciate the thought you’ve put into this so far,” Yuna said. “But there’s no way you're hiding this for ten years. It is going to leak. We need an actual reasonable plan for you to come out safely and be happy so you can do this on your own terms and not be miserable.”
--
The ten-year plan was never going to work. Fortunately, thanks to Yuna, Shane and Ilya now have a new and improved plan that could have them safe and happy in just a year or two's time. They just have to want it bad enough.
Ottawa a year early. Support from friends and family. Therapy. Rebranded images. A more confident and secure Shane. A public friendship hard launch. A relationship soft launch.
There's a lot to do. It's time to put in the work.

Summary
“Ilya?” She says softly. “Is there any chance you’re pregnant?”
If he were feeling even a little bit better, he’d snort a laugh. He wasn’t a prude, but he also wasn’t jumping at the opportunity to discuss his sex life with his mother-in-law.
Shane stiffens under Ilya’s grasp. “The start of the season. After our first practice.”
Ilya shakes his head. “No. Is impossible. We did it once, and —“
Ilya cuts himself off with a low groan.

Summary
He wasn’t ready for this.
Maybe he never would have been, not in two, or five, or ten years. Maybe he would have spent the rest of his life holding this secret inside, not telling a single soul about the way his heart beats for his biggest rival. Or maybe, in a year or ten or once he’s retired, he might have come out publicly. Might have shared his truth with the world.
But that was supposed to be his choice. To tell or not to tell, to hide in the shade or step out into the sunshine. It was supposed to be his decision, and now it’s been taken from him.
