For many long years Merlin waited.

This was amazing. Generally post-canon modern aus aren’t really my thing because I’m deathly scared of them post angst wise and mischaracterisation wise but man, this was brilliant. Very well executed, adjustment period felt real, Merlin and Arthur’s trauma was handled well, unique, wow.

“If you get me,” Wilson hissed, “if you tick every possible box of human relationships in my life, then you could have everything you’ve ever wanted, except you’ve centered your entire sense of self around being miserable and you don’t know who you’d be if you were happy. Am I wrong?”
“Spot on,” House spat, “you should charge by the hour. Now get out of my house.”
“No. This has always been you, since the first second we met.”
House got his good leg under him. Wilson crowded in close and the anger made him a furnace, blistering heat all up House’s front. House’s head was pounding, his mouth was dry, he couldn’t do it for much longer.
“Let go,” he said, as level as he could manage, but Wilson wasn’t listening anymore. He shook him, dug his fingers in under House’s ribs.
“You need to get your grubby little hands into everything that’s mine and make it about you, and I’m telling you it works and you don’t even care.” He groped a hand up House’s arm and hung onto his neck, sweaty and hot, wild-eyed and furious. “You want to be my friend, my boyfriend, my boss—”
“Wilson—”
“—my brother, my wife, my fucking mother, you’re sick—”
House kissed him. He was still talking and their teeth clacked, mouths crushing together, both of them frozen with shock. House knew he was going to kiss him the second he stepped inside, but he didn’t know exactly when until he did it.

I CAN HEAR THEM SPEAKING THEY ARE INSANE
He looks up instantly, then closes his eyes , as if fighting against the urge to roll them. Probably because he can see the mischievous intent in House’s expression. He closes a patient's file with weary finality. “I’m not sure I want to know, I’m busy right now, House.”
“This’ll be quick, promise.”
“I have a patient waiting in exam room two.”
“It’ll be really quick. I need to make out with you. Right now, whilst Cuddy’s watching.”
A deer in the headlights would look less horrified. “Why? God, why-?”
“Because I tried to ‘disclose’ our ‘relationship’,” he says with air-inverted commas, “and she seemed to think it was a ‘joke’.”
“Of course she would. It’s absurd that we’re friends, let alone in an actual, loving relationship.”
“OK. This is getting off track. Can we kiss now? Or do you want to organise her to come over to our place some time next week-?”
Wilson sighs. But he’s smiling, too. House knows he’s been thinking about making it public, anyway. He tilts his head side to side in consideration, sighs, then nods. “Fine.”

House knocks his forehead against his cane. “I don’t know. Maybe.”

This was unironically really good like I could hear them speaking and the dialogue was brilliant. Also house is stupid and Wilson is evil btw don’t let anyone convince you Wilson is the normal one. He isn’t.

Ilya taking the lead between them wasn’t unusual, but it wasn’t usually so total. Shane had just given himself to Ilya. It was heady and disorienting and Ilya didn’t have a hope in hell of understanding why it was happening. Still, he should at least check in. “You are good?” he asked. “You like this?”
“Yes, yes,” Shane said, gasping.
“This is what you want?” Ilya asked.
Shane didn’t respond straight away, his eyes clenched closed, trying to catch his breath. “I want you to have what you want,” he said, and Ilya lost reason.
