Summary
Baelor knew of his youngest brother's birth even before their father did. In the hush between his mother's latest hoarse scream and the babe's first shrill cry he had felt it, a little tingling right beneath the skin on his left forearm, and had in his excitement almost ripped the sleeve of his fine tunic just to get a look.
Baelor and Maekar grow up marked for each other, never questioning if they belong together, never knowing what being alone even feels like. When they, as princes of the realm, still have to provide heirs they do their duty like they do everything – together. When one day another mark blooms on their arms they know they will do this together too, but unbeknownst to them finding their marked may yet prove more difficult than they thought.

Summary
Dunk didn’t know exactly how many days it’d been since they’d stitched the golden thread into the soft, leathery skin on the underside of his jaw because they’d done it when he was still in the dark room, but he’d felt it every moment he’d been awake since then, and maybe even most moments he’d been asleep as well.

Summary
Daella takes her seat at the breakfast table and announces to the gathered family, “Aemon wrote back to me. He thinks Duncan might be a Bear Island Hound.”
Maekar, exhausted, frustrated, only just has enough energy to utter, “a what?”
“A Bear Island Hound,” Daella says patiently, “they were bred on Bear Island as livestock guardians. Aemon says that they’re known to be gentle with livestock and patient with children, and vicious to predators.”
Daeron, remarkably sober for once, just nods and says, “well that explains his size at least. If he was bred to fight off bears.”
Then Daella sighs happily as though awfully pleased with herself, and she proceeds to remain silent as she digs into her breakfast. Maekar sighs tiredly, and glances towards the fireplace in the dining room, where Duncan, The Mutt, is lying quietly as his youngest daughter Rhae brushes him clumsily.
Then he slumps in his chair and wonders how exactly his life had come to this.
-
AKA Dunk gets turned into a dog, and turns up at Summerhall, and Maekar is the cliche father who hates the dog, right up until he decides that The Mutt is his best friend.

Summary
Duncan dies in Galway where he's lived his whole life. He wakes up in Ashford, the evening before Prince Aerion takes mortal offense to a puppet show.
He actually didn't mean to make any changes, meant to keep a low profile and survive quietly, but he ends up saving Baelor Breakspear's life because Maekar Targaryen was his favorite character and he was so sad he killed his brother, and what is a normal guy to do but live out a fanfiction fantasy where the prodigal actually gets to go home and his favorite character gets to be happy, for a change?
Baelor and his brother are, somewhat to his detriment, immediately interested. Duncan now has two dragons, and their dragons, and their kids and their dragons, breathing down his neck about his curious attitude and the way he seems to... know things.
Surprise, Duncan! Now you're Dunk, and the Princes are about as chill about you as a volcanic eruption!
