Summary

“....Do you remember anything before our...our trip?” asked Wolfwood.
Vash shook his head.
Wolfwood felt himself getting desperate as he asked his next question; “Do you know who you are?”
Those damn blue eyes gave him the most pitiful look Wolfwood had ever seen, and Vash ever so slowly shook his head ‘No’. The waves came crashing down over Wolfwood’s head as the whole planet stopped in its tracks.
He didn’t remember.
He had failed.
He hadn’t saved Vash, that needle-noggin was long gone still stuck in July.
All he had done was save the shell of a man he had wanted to save with all his being.
Why was it?
Why was it that all he could do was fuck everything up?
tldr: two guys go on a road trip trying to survive a post Lost July world, Wolfwood is trying his best and Vash is figuring what it means to be human

Too bad when they finally cross paths again they think the only one who remembers their past lives is themselves. God forbid they talk to each other like normal people. [The Trigun gang have all been reincarnated but they think they're the only ones who remember, because I thought it would be funny okay?]
My original title for this story was: reincarnation au but they're all idiots.
