It's not so much that Tony is upset that everyone keeps forgetting his birthdays— he's an adult, he can handle his teammates, the people sharing his house with him, his friends, not remembering to even wish him a happy birthday, but he can't help but feel that— actually yes, he is upset.
Tony is upset that people keep forgetting his birthday. He doesn't forget their birthdays! He, in fact, goes out of his way to give them the best birthdays that money can buy! Birthdays are important, he knows they are important, and he wants to show everyone how important they are, and they are his friends, right???

Sometimes it's simply admitting you need help.
Unfortunately for Luke, it takes him a lot longer to admit himself to a vulnerability that would change everything.
