Summary
Arthur wakes up to find a de-aged Merlin sitting in his room- a Merlin with no memories of Camelot. The knights all offer to help- but the one thing they can't understand is why Merlin seems so scared of 'the knights in the red capes', and why he keeps pleading with them not to burn him.
As Merlin begins to get his memories back, the knights find out more and more about their friend while he remembers and reveals his life in Camelot.
I'm not great at summaries, but please give the story a shot!Edit: I just saw that this story has a little over 10,000 hits, which is absolutely mindblowing! It's so humbling to envision a concert's worth of people reading my fanfic, and I am so grateful for all of you. Summary
Relying on pure luck and Merlin’s inexistent ability to keep a secret was not working any longer. So, Merlin figured better to be prepared and memorized a spell that could erase short-term memories. Honestly, he’d meant it as an emergency protocol, he had no idea how he’d become so careless that he needed it so often. It wasn’t his fault Arthur seemed to be paying way too much attention to him lately. Look, Merlin was just trying to survive while protecting his prince, he hadn’t done anything to deserve all this stress!
Or the 5 times Merlin erased Arthur’s memory of his magic and the 1 time he let him remember.
