Percy doesn't have the greatest track record when it comes to avoiding his uncles. Apparently this also applies to Bruce Wayne, no matter how recently Percy even found out they were related.

Percy moved to Gotham to get some peace, at least from the mythological world. It seemed the obvious choice, even with Annabeth in New Rome, and it is, for a few weeks. He has a job, an apartment and a very rich uncle who doesn't know he exists. He'd like to keep it that way, but that's a bit hard after a stray gunshot (OK, maybe he kind of walked up to the robber) lands him in the hospital. With all other emergency contacts unavailable, Gotham General somehow digs up a relative- Bruce Wayne.Predictably, he has a few questions.

After losing everyone she loved, she decided it was easier to leave first than risk being abandoned again.
Unfortunately, running away from Gotham doesn't mean Gotham is willing to leave her alone.
Or: Anna Elizabeth Wayne becomes Annabeth Chase, accidentally acquires an entirely new family, and eventually has to deal with the fact that her old one never stopped looking for her.
