    Eddie swung his legs back and forth as much as was safe. At least if he fell, he was surrounded by first responders. “Feels cool though, doesn’t it?”

    He watched as Buck tentatively copied, legs kicking out into the air before swinging back. He knew he had won once most of the worry fell off of Buck’s face and was replaced with humour.

    “People say I’m the weird one”

    “Nah, you just make me look normal”

    Buck grinned, and Eddie felt the pit that had been in his stomach for hours finally settle. Somehow that was all he needed. All he had ever needed.
