He said it so quietly it wasn’t even a whisper, more like an exhalation. And that was what all this came down to, in the end. It wasn’t a desire to be a woman some or all of the time, or even to look like a woman–instead, what Chris wanted was to sand down his edges, to give himself a different coat of paint. To shed the persona of the huge masculine protector with the weight of the world on his shoulders, and just exist as something else for a couple of hours every weekend. Was that so much to ask?
Evidently, because as he spun in place to watch the way the delicate skirt fell around his not-so-delicate thighs, he heard a noise that caused him to freeze like a deer caught in headlights.

The first thing he does is pinch himself, because there is no way in hell that he isn't dreaming. He grasps firm skin, his fingers feeling smoother than he remembered, the callouses he's had from almost two decades of wielding weapons no where to be seen. The second thing he does is laugh. He laughs. The sound comes out startled, edged in hysteria, practically trembling with the movement as he pinches himself again and again and again.
"I...what the fuck?" He says, voice cracking at the end as the pain continues to do nothing, as the city bustles with life underneath him, as the old him within his reflection follows each of his movements because that.is.him.
Thirty-Seven year old Leon Scott Kennedy has somehow woken up as a twenty-one year old in an apartment that should not exist, in a city that should have been obliterated.
"What the fuck!?" He yells, because the third thing he does once the laughter dies down is scream.
